The Fool, from Robin Hobb’s Farseer Trilogy. This was an original design based on what was described in her books.
I actually made this for a medieval themed wedding, and honestly it’s one of my most sentimental costumes. I’ve always strongly identified with the Fool (he’s my favourite fictional character of all time) because of his androgyny and tendency to use his wit rather than physical strength in situations. I’m also completely in love with his and Fitz’s relationship; Hobb writes character dynamics in a way so intricate they could honestly be real.
Anyway, fanboy moment over, yes. This is my Fool cosplay from a photoshoot with the fabulous Shrew Reynolds as my photographer in Brompton Cemetery, London, in 2011…I think…?
